One spring day in London, while making my way to a destination, I came across a magnificent cherry tree in full bloom.
I stopped. I couldn't help it.
The sight of those blossoms took me straight back to childhood to climbing trees, picking cherries, the sticky sweetness of them. For a moment, standing on a London street, I was somewhere else entirely.
Caught up in the memory, I took out my camera and started photographing the blossoms. Close up. The soft pink petals. The light filtering through. I wanted to hold onto that feeling somehow.
Later, looking back at the images, something clicked. These photographs were too alive to sit in a folder. The colour, the detail, the emotion they carried they deserved to be worn.
And that is how the Cherry Blossom collection was born.
